Take a Driving Tour of Webster:
The best things about living in Webster
is the proximity to the bay, the lake
&
all the incredible parks, fields & trails.
We visit a field or park in the area daily.
On the weekend we enjoy taking a drive down Lake Road to Pultneyville.
I put together this driving tour so that you can see all the beauty that Webster has to offer.
Tip:
Be sure to bring comfortable hiking boots/sneakers
&
possibly your bikes on your journey.
Step#1:
Drive over the Bay Bridge and Exit on:
Bay Road heading North towards Lake Road.
Take a Left: you will pass the Sandbar Park, continue to the end The Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge.
The “Swing Bridge” is closed to cars April-November so that boats have access from Irondequoit Bay to Lake Ontario.
Mayer’s Marina will be on your left.
You can park on the right-hand side and walk along the short walkway that leads out to a pier.
Stop and take in the stunning vista of the shoreline, the birds and all the boating activity.
Step#2:
Continue on your journey heading East back down Lake Road.
Pass Bay Road.
You will come to Vosburg Road shortly, on your right.
You might consider taking a detour as there are gobs of beautiful fields and connecting trails that run across Webster.
The Hojack Trail, Vosburg Hollow, Gosnell Trails, Gosnell Big Woods Preserve, Gosnell Big Field, Whiting Road Nature Preserve and Webster County Park are all worth a visit.
NOTE: If you brought your bikes, you might want to ride the 3.5-mile multi-use Hojack Trail. It runs from Lake Road to Phillips Road.
Step#3:
After you’re done enjoying the trails head back to Lake Rd via Baker Road.
As you continue down Lake Road be sure to take a rest at Webster Park.
On your Left-hand side you will find an ample parking lot.
You can park and walk over the bridge across the creek, you will come to the large Fishing Pier.
If you continue up the path you will take in stunning views through the trees.
If you have children; there is a playground just at Holt Road (on the South-East side of Lake Road) here the kiddos can get out and run and play.
If they are very young, go a short hop down Holt Road you will see on your right-hand side a Parking Lot, continue down until you reach the 2nd Parking Lot, on your right-hand. Park here and cross over the creek, there you will find two playgrounds that are age appropriate for toddlers.
If you like Tennis or Pickle Ball, take the very next road, it will wind up to the courts.
There are bathrooms there as well.
Open Seasonally.
Step#4:
Now that everyone is back in the car, head back to Lake Road, continue heading East.
You will reach the end of town at County Line Road. Are you hungry?
Just over the County Line at: 153 Lake Road you will find a gem of a place on your left called Rustic Taco.
There are tables outside to enjoy their amazing food. The Drunken Nachos, Craft Cheeseburger Taco and the Sober Spicy Shrimp Taco are our favorites; but everything is yummy. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Sadly, this location has closed. The restaurant has moved to the village of Fairport.
BONUS:
If you decide to continue to Pultneyville from the last stop Rustic Taco you will have a 12 min/9.5mile drive down Lake Road.
There is a lovely park B. Forman Park just pass through Pultneyville and it will be on the lake side.
There are restrooms and a playground. Opened Seasonally.
Grab the blanket we provide and sit out and enjoy the stunning view.
There are charcoal grills available if you choose to pack a picnic feel free to use the cooler from the Mud Room.
