FUN FACT #1:
CAYUGA LAKE: Aurora, NY
Did you know that MacKenzie-Child’s (#1) originated in Aurora.?
It is an institution around here and our house is filled with
the Courtly Check black and white ware.
I absolutely love, love, love it!
If they have a tour available, be sure to take it!
The decor is fun and the views from the property of Cayuga Lake
are stunning as are the gardens.
FUN FACT #2:
SKANEATELES LAKE: Skaneateles, NY
You will find gobs of shopping (#2-7) as you stroll up and down
Genesee St and Jordan St in Skaneateles.
Oh, I just adore Skaneateles.
FUN FACT #3:
CANANDAIGUA LAKE: Canandaigua, NY
Canandaigua has main street shopping that you will come to before you reach
Canandaigua Lake. You will notice the shops line either side.
My two picks are on opposite sides. This way you can pop into one (#9) on your way into town and you can hit the other (#8) on the way out.
FUN FACT #4:
CAYUGA LAKE: Ithaca, NY
If you venture to Cayuga Lake as far as Ithaca, Marmalade Mercantile (#10) is a cute shop. There are a lot of artists in Ithaca, and you will find a wide selection of shops in town.
The absolute hottest spot on the weekend is Ithaca Farmers Market located at:
Steamboat Landing 545 3rd Street (Hours: Sat 9am-3pm and Sun 10am-3pm).
FUN FACT #5:
SENECA LAKE:
Seneca Lake is the lake to go to visit Wineries and Breweries.
This is how you shop on Seneca Lake; you buy a case of Finger Lakes wine or a growler of beer.
Seneca Lake Wine Trail
Finger Lakes
&
If you go on the Wine Tasting Trail do be sure to check out our favorite winery:
Herman J. Wiemer Vineyard
3962 Route 14 Dundee, NY
Oh, my goodness, their Cabernet Brut is absolutely delish!
You may want to appoint a Designated Driver…. just saying. Be safe.
Not feeling the Wine Tasting Trail?
Another fun thing to do other than “shop” is to take a Seneca Lake Boat Tour!
Belhurst Castle offers a Food & Wine Pairing Dinner.
There are also Seneca Lake Reel Tours and True Love Schooner Excursions
or/ you can rent a vessel from Stivers Seneca Marine.
